Training for Pivot Steer Trucks
This lift truck, known as a pivot-steer lift truck, is specially designed to operate in narrow aisles or confined spaces. The pivot-steer lift trucks are also rated for particular loads at a maximum weight and forward centre of gravity. It is important for machine operators to understand the limitations of the machine they are operating, to maintain safety in the workplace. Our courses are designed to give your workers the accredited training they need to use the fork-lift efficiently and safely at all times.
Premises Requirements
- A pivot-steer fork-lift truck in good working order and safe condition.
- A training room to carry out the classroom-based theory elements of the course.
- An area of approximately 30sqm to operate the Fork-lift, to conduct practical lessons and assessments.
- 30 or more empty pallets.
- Loads to lift, move & stack.
- Racking or loads that can be stacked at ground, eye & higher levels.
Course Requirements
Information on minimum training requirements for Pivot Steer Trucks course is below:
- Novice: For candidates who have no experience of operating this type of lift truck.
- Experienced: For candidates with practical experience but no formal initial training (not listed on the NORS register).
- Refresher: For candidates requiring re-certification following expiry of their current certificate (already listed on the NORS register).
- Conversion: For candidates who have certification on one machine, that need to be trained, tested and certified on a different machine.
