Training for Articulated Boom (MEWP)
Articulated Boom is a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) similar to a Scissor Lift - but with 3 axis capability. Training is crucial for ensuring safety and compliance in workplaces that utilise these platforms. Training equips operators with the knowledge and skills to operate the equipment safely, minimizing the risk of accidents and injuries. Furthermore, it helps businesses comply with legal requirements
Premises Requirements
- Articulated Boom MEWP in good working order and safe condition.
- A training room to carry out the classroom-based theory elements of the course.
- An area of approximately 60sqm to operate the MEWP, to conduct practical lessons and assessments.
Course Requirements
Information on minimum training requirements for Articulated Boom (MEWP) course is below:
- Novice: For candidates who have no experience of operating this type of lift truck.
- Experienced: For candidates with practical experience but no formal initial training (not listed on the NORS register).
- Refresher: For candidates requiring re-certification following expiry of their current certificate (already listed on the NORS register).
- Conversion: For candidates who have certification on one machine, that need to be trained, tested and certified on a different machine.
