Training for Pallet Trucks
A pallet truck can be motorised or manually-operated. These are small wheeled-trolleys, which are designed to lift and transport pallets. A motorised pallet truck is powered by an electric motor for both moving and lifting functions - but is controlled by an operator either riding on it or walking in-front of it, to guide its movements. Whereas, on a manually-operated pallet truck (often referred to as a pump truck), the handle is pumped up and down by the operator, to raise or lower the load. The moving function of the pump-truck is provided by the operator dragging the load themselves.
